Fired FBI agents sue Patel, Bondi for ‘retribution campaign’ 31.03.2026

Three former FBI agents, Michelle Ball, Jamie Garman, and Blaire Toleman, have filed a lawsuit in federal court in Washington, D.C., against FBI Director Kash Patel, Attorney General Pam Bondi, the FBI, and the Justice Department. They allege an illegal "retribution campaign" and violations of their First and Fifth Amendment rights, stemming from their involvement in an investigation into President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The agents, fired without notice in October and November, claim they were baselessly accused of "weaponizing" their positions and that Patel and Bondi publicly disparaged them. The suit seeks class action certification and the reinstatement of all similarly situated agents, highlighting a pattern of personnel purges within the Justice Department since Trump's return to office.
