Plateau Killings: Tinubu Meets Mutfwang, Heads To Jos Thursday 01.04.2026

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, following a directive to discuss the escalating security crisis in the North-Central state. This meeting occurred three days after a brutal Palm Sunday attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, which resulted in at least 28 fatalities. President Tinubu, who had previously condemned the attack as barbaric and vowed to bring perpetrators to justice, also extended his condemnation to a separate incident in Kaduna State. He commended Governor Mutfwang's efforts to manage the situation and urged security agencies to intensify their pursuit of those responsible, while cautioning against religiously motivated narratives in media reporting. The President is scheduled to visit Jos on Thursday, April 2, 2026, to offer condolences, postponing a planned trip to Ogun State.
