Costco's hot dog deal inspires a bourbon that flew off the shelves 02.04.2026

A limited-release "I Got That Dog In Me" single-barrel bourbon, inspired by Costco's iconic $1.50 hot dog and soda deal, sold out within hours of its release last week. The bourbon, bottled by Lexington, Kentucky-based Rare Character Whiskey Co. at 126 proof, featured the warehouse club's food court meal on its label and retailed for $85.99. Shoppers first spotted the whiskey in Washington, DC, less than a week ago, with online reports indicating it hit shelves on March 27 and sold out by the following morning. While this specific bottling was for the DC team, Rare Character Whiskey Co. co-founder Pete Nevenglosky indicated that future bottlings for other Costco regions are in development, suggesting a potential repeat appearance of the sought-after bourbon.
