A devastating fire swept through Kampung Kedai Buloh last night, destroying five homes and damaging three others, resulting in a significant financial loss for one resident. Syawal Anuar Arifin, a 40-year-old cooking gas seller, reported losing RM50,000 in cash, which was intended for business payments, after the blaze engulfed his family home. The fire, which began around 9:45 pm, also caused several explosions believed to be from approximately 30 stored gas cylinders. While Arifin and his family were away when alerted by a cousin, witnesses described the rapid spread of the fire and the subsequent explosions, necessitating an evacuation. The Fire and Rescue Department's swift action prevented further damage to adjacent properties.
