Home sales up in the Greater Toronto Area, selling price down: TRREB 07.04.2026

In March 2026, the Greater Toronto Area experienced its first year-over-year increase in home sales in six months, with 5,039 properties changing hands, a 1.7 per cent rise from March 2025, according to the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB). This uptick, also seen as a 1.4 per cent increase from February on a seasonally adjusted basis, suggests growing buyer interest driven by improved affordability. Despite the sales growth, the average selling price declined by 6.7 per cent to $1,017,796, and the composite benchmark price fell 7.4 per cent year-over-year, with buyers retaining significant negotiating power. New listings dropped 16.7 per cent, leading to an 8 per cent decrease in total active listings.
