HPA ridge extends over Luzon; thunderstorms to bring rains over parts of PH 08.04.2026

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the ridge of a High Pressure Area (HPA) is extending over Northern and Central Luzon, leading to localized thunderstorms that will bring isolated rains across parts of the country on Thursday. Meanwhile, a Tropical Depression, located 2,880 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao with sustained winds of 55 km/h, is being monitored as it moves slowly westward and has a high chance of developing into a cyclone. Metro Manila and the rest of the Philippines can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with a warning issued for potential flash floods or landslides during severe weather events. Wind conditions are forecast to be light to moderate across the archipelago.
