Ο Πρόεδρος της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, Νίκος Χριστοδουλίδης, είχε τηλεφωνική επικοινωνία με τον Πρόεδρο του Λιβάνου, Ζοζέφ Αούν, εκφράζοντας την έντονη ανησυχία του για τις ισραηλινές επιθέσεις κατά αμάχων και υποδομών στον Λίβανο, οι οποίες προκαλούν θύματα και κίνδυνο περαιτέρω ανάφλεξης. Η Κύπρος εξέφρασε την αλληλεγγύη της και την ετοιμότητά της να παράσχει ανθρωπιστική βοήθεια, ύψους 300.000 ευρώ, μέσω UNICEF Lebanon και WFP Lebanon, για τη στήριξη του πληθυσμού που πλήττεται από τις εξελίξεις. Ο Πρόεδρος Χριστοδουλίδης τόνισε την ανάγκη σεβασμού της κυριαρχίας του Λιβάνου, της εκεχειρίας, της εντολής της UNIFIL και του Ψηφίσματος 1701 του ΟΗΕ, υπογραμμίζοντας τον ρόλο της Κύπρου στο πλαίσιο της Προεδρίας της στο Συμβούλιο της ΕΕ για την αποκατάσταση της σταθερότητας.
