County delays AI data center hearing after west suburbs protest 10.04.2026

Palm Beach County has postponed a crucial hearing for "Project Tango," a proposed AI data center in its western suburbs, from April 23 to July 15. This delay follows a protest on April 6 concerning the project's initial scale and proximity to homes in the Arden community and Saddle View Elementary School. The developer has since revised plans to move the data centers further from residential areas and the school, reducing the data center footprint from 1.8 million to 1 million square feet, while increasing warehouse space to 1.9 million square feet. Despite these changes, concerns persist among residents regarding potential strain on power grids, water usage, and noise pollution, with an online petition against the project gaining nearly 10,000 signatures.
