350k supplements recalled for packaging flaw that poses ‘serious injury or death’ risk to children 10h ago

Vitaquest International, a New Jersey-based company, has initiated a voluntary recall of approximately 356,140 dietary supplements containing iron due to a critical packaging flaw. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall, stating that the lack of child-resistant packaging violates the Poison Prevention Packaging Act and poses a significant risk of serious injury or death from accidental ingestion by young children. The affected products, including prenatal vitamins and supplements for bariatric surgery patients, as well as Zenbean Kids Café Instant Coffee + Nutrition Latte, were sold under various brands. Vitaquest International confirmed that product formulation and quality are not affected, but urges consumers to secure the supplements out of children's reach and contact them for a free child-resistant replacement. No injuries have been reported to date.
