After connecting with Artemis astronauts in space, this Canadian company plans to bring its tech to the Arctic 14.04.2026

Quebec-based Advantech Wireless Technologies, which developed high-power amplifiers for NASA’s Artemis lunar missions, is now pivoting its technology to address connectivity challenges in Canada's Arctic. The company's expertise in maintaining communication across vast distances, including cislunar space, is deemed crucial for enhancing surveillance, communication, and closing digital divides in remote northern regions. Advantech has a long history of deploying equipment in the Canadian Arctic for over two decades and has received significant federal support, including $11.5 million in 2018 for advanced satellite broadband networks. This strategic move aligns with Ottawa's increasing focus on defence and sovereignty in the North, leveraging space-grade solutions for terrestrial applications.
