CGTN Poll: Over 85% of respondents say 'Investing in China' key to global competitiveness 15.04.2026

The 6th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) in Haikou, Hainan Province, on April 13, 2026, is highlighted as a critical event for global consumption trends and economic recovery, marking Hainan's new island-wide special customs operations and the inaugural year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan. An online CGTN poll of 7,664 participants revealed that 85.1% believe investing in China is essential for global market integration and competitiveness. The expo has attracted over 3,400 brands from more than 60 countries, with international exhibits comprising 65% of the total. The survey also indicated strong agreement that CICPE serves as a vital platform for exchanges and investment, demonstrating China's commitment to high-level opening-up and contributing to global economic growth, especially with China's total retail sales surpassing 50 trillion yuan in 2025, underscoring the growing role of consumption.
