breaking newsMuhyiddin-Hadi meeting signals PN’s bid for Putrajaya, says Bersatu leader 15.04.2026

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang met in Rusila, Terengganu, today, signaling Perikatan Nasional's (PN) strategic preparations to contest and win Putrajaya in the 16th general election, according to Terengganu Bersatu chief Razali Idris. The hour-long discussion focused on fortifying PN and deepening collaboration between Bersatu and PAS, which Razali described as the coalition's crucial asset. He emphasized the necessity of activating the election machinery proactively, preparing for potential snap elections and solidifying PN's readiness. This meeting occurred amid recent reported tensions between PAS and Bersatu, including disagreements over the Perlis menteri besar change and the appointment of a new opposition leader, a decision Hadi suggested would occur before June's parliamentary sitting, while Muhyiddin advocated for immediate action.
