Dutch prosecutors are seeking a four-year prison sentence for a 37-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman accused of sexually exploiting a 27-year-old Romanian woman. The suspects allegedly forced the victim into prostitution for over a year in a home in Zuidoost, Amsterdam, while also subjecting her to physical abuse and threats. The victim, who arrived in February 2024, was reportedly forced to work daily, even when ill, with nearly all her earnings of €600 to €1500 daily going to the defendants. She managed to escape in January, but alleged continued exploitation through threats and abuse against her acquaintances, leading her to return twice before being discovered during a police prostitution check. Both suspects were arrested on April 7, 2025.
