Hollywood’s First Big Budget AI-Generated Movie Is About Bitcoin, of Course 6h ago

"Bitcoin: Killing Satoshi," a forthcoming thriller, is set to become the first "studio-quality" feature film to extensively utilize AI-generated imagery in its production. Directed by Doug Liman and starring Gal Gadot, Pete Davidson, and Casey Affleck, the movie's post-production will heavily rely on AI tools. The production team, from independent visual effects studio Acme AI & FX, employed a customized soundstage for a 20-day shoot, with sets and lighting to be generated digitally. This AI integration dramatically reduced the estimated production cost from $300 million to approximately $70 million, primarily by eliminating the need for numerous on-location shoots across varied settings like Antarctica and Antigua. Despite the AI focus, the project involved 107 cast members and 100 shoot crew, with 55 "AI artists" planned for the 30-week post-production.
