Eyewitnesses recount three deadly Israeli strikes on medics in southern Lebanon 18.04.2026

Eyewitnesses in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon, recounted three deadly Israeli strikes on medics responding to an attack on ambulances on Wednesday. Two ambulances were destroyed and four paramedics were killed, with six others wounded, in what witnesses described as a "hellscape." The first responders, from Nabatiyeh Emergency Services and affiliated groups, hesitated but proceeded to aid colleagues, only to be targeted by a drone strike shortly after arriving. This incident, occurring shortly before a 10-day truce, marks a continuation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon's health sector, which humanitarian agencies report have resulted in an average of two health worker deaths daily during the conflict. The Israeli army stated the incident is under review, while U.N. human rights officials condemned such attacks as potential war crimes.
