Task force to pursue asset forfeiture, tax recovery in e-waste blitz 6h ago

The Multi-Agency Task Force (MATF) is set to focus on asset forfeiture and tax recovery from illicit e-waste operations following recent seizures of e-waste containers at Malaysian ports. MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki announced that a high-level meeting at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya tomorrow will convene representatives from key agencies, including the Inland Revenue Board, Customs Department, police, and the Department of Environment, to enhance inter-agency coordination under Op Hazard 3.0. This initiative aims to strengthen enforcement efforts by aligning intelligence and operational capabilities to dismantle organized syndicates involved in the illegal e-waste trade and disrupt their financial networks, building on previous raids targeting illegal processing facilities nationwide.
