Green Motion, Ethiopian Airlines launch ShebaMiles link for ground travel 14h ago

Green Motion Ethiopia and Ethiopian Airlines have launched a strategic partnership, effective April 14, 2026, enabling ShebaMiles members to earn loyalty points on car rental services, thereby integrating air and ground travel and promoting Ethiopia's transition to greener mobility. This collaboration aligns with Ethiopia's 2024 ban on internal combustion engine vehicle imports, which has spurred the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) and encouraged rental companies like Green Motion, whose fleet is 70-80% electric, to adapt. The initiative supports Ethiopia's climate goals and aims to reduce transport emissions, with Green Motion founder Richard Lowden emphasizing the company's commitment to Ethiopia's EV policy and environmental impact reduction. ShebaMiles members will earn one mile per dollar spent at Green Motion locations in Ethiopia and abroad, fostering customer loyalty and offering a seamless travel experience by allowing mileage accumulation beyond flights.
