Met spoed cameratoezicht rondom De Leeuw van Vlaanderenstraat in West na nacht vol explosies 6h ago

Following a night of multiple explosions, including one at a front door on De Leeuw van Vlaanderenstraat in Amsterdam's Kolenkitbuurt early Monday morning, Mayor Halsema has urgently implemented two months of surveillance camera monitoring in the area. This latest incident, which occurred around 2:00 AM and left a facade blackened, is part of a disturbing pattern of violence in the street, which saw a property closed in May 2025 due to previous explosions and another explosion in spring 2025 despite existing camera surveillance. This month also saw several cars burn out in the street. While it's unknown if the recent target was a previous one, no one was injured in Monday's blast. The police are investigating all three explosions from that night, which have significantly impacted the neighborhood and raised concerns about further public order disturbances, with camera surveillance in effect until June 21st.
