MyUBAT app can verify all drug holograms, Health Ministry says amid safety concerns 22.04.2026

The Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) has clarified that its hologram label verification system for health products remains effective, despite concerns about counterfeit or unregistered items. The Drug Control Authority (DCA) utilizes these holograms as a critical part of its regulatory framework. To enhance consumer protection and combat counterfeiting, the MOH has upgraded the MyUBAT application, which now allows users to scan all past and present MOH hologram safety labels to verify product authenticity. This digital advancement complements existing checks such as product registration, premise licensing, and supply chain audits, ensuring the market's safety ecosystem remains robust and well-regulated. The ministry also noted that licensed pharmacies with approved devices can perform verifications.
