Russian strikes kill at least seven and injure dozens across Ukraine 25.04.2026

Russia launched one of its largest overnight attacks on Ukraine since the 2022 invasion, deploying over 600 drones and 47 missiles, resulting in at least seven fatalities and dozens of injuries across 30 locations. The city of Dnipro was the hardest-hit, sustaining a more than 10-hour assault that killed at least five people, including a nine-year-old boy, and injured 34 in an apartment block strike. Other regions, including Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Kyiv, were also targeted. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, visiting Azerbaijan, stressed the need for increased air defense and decisive partner action, while also urging the swift implementation of the 21st EU sanctions package against Russia. Separately, a drone crashed in Romania, a NATO and EU member bordering Ukraine, damaging property and necessitating the evacuation of over 200 people.
