Firhad Hakim, the 38th Mayor of Kolkata and a senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader, is also the party's candidate for the Kolkata Port constituency. First elected as an MLA in 2011, he has consistently won the seat, holding key ministerial portfolios in Urban Development and Municipal Affairs since the TMC's ascent to power. His dual role as Mayor and state minister places him at the forefront of urban governance, influencing infrastructure development and civic administration. Hakim is considered a central figure in managing Kolkata’s complex urban landscape and a close associate of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He is also a member of the TMC's National Working Committee.
