MCA urges matriculation admission for ‘overlooked’ SPM top scorers 5h ago

MCA president Wee Ka Siong has urged the Malaysian government to admit 11 SPM top scorers who were omitted from the matriculation programme, despite a government promise that all 10A scorers would receive automatic offers. Wee stated that the government announced 6,717 students with 10As in the 2025 SPM would get automatic places, but the MCA Youth secretariat received 11 complaints from overlooked students, raising questions about the system's reliability. He warned these complaints may be the tip of the iceberg, as other political parties are also assisting with appeals. Wee called on Putrajaya to honor its commitment and rectify the oversight. On April 8, the education ministry assured that all SPM 2025 candidates with 10As and above who apply will be offered places, regardless of race or background.
