Iran executes 2 men convicted of spying for Israel's Mossad 02.05.2026

Iran executed two men, Yaqoub Karimpour and Naser Bekrzadeh, on Saturday for spying for Israel’s Mossad, according to the Mizan news agency. The Supreme Court upheld their death sentences. Karimpour was convicted of sending sensitive information to a Mossad officer via Telegram during a 40-day war involving Iran, the US, and Israel, and of filming military sites. Bekrzadeh provided information, photos, and videos of public locations and officials via WhatsApp and email. Both received money for their actions. The executions follow a conflict that began on February 28 with joint US-Israel attacks on Tehran, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and ended with a ceasefire on April 8 and inconclusive peace talks.
