Nollywood Actor Desmond Elliot Apologises To Gbajabiamila Over Lagos Assembly Crisis, Plot To Impeach Speaker Obasa 15.05.2026

Lagos lawmaker and Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot has publicly apologized to Femi Gbajabiamila, President Bola Tinubu's Chief of Staff, following revelations that Gbajabiamila nearly lost his position due to alleged links between Elliot and the political crisis surrounding the attempted impeachment of Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa. Appearing on TVC's "Your View" on Friday, Elliot described Gbajabiamila as his political mentor and elder brother, admitting to potential misunderstandings and human error. This apology comes after Gbajabiamila disclosed that President Tinubu confronted him over intelligence reports implicating Elliot in anti-Obasa political moves. Gbajabiamila also revealed that the Director-General of the DSS contacted him regarding security reports linking him to the Assembly crisis and Elliot's alleged involvement, emphasizing that his relationship with the President likely saved his job.
