Two Ducati motorcycle riders, clerk Khairul Azham Mohd Noor, 36, and mechanic Nashril Rosli, 31, pleaded not guilty in the Kuala Lumpur Magistrates’ Court on May 21 to performing dangerous wheelie stunts on the Setiawangsa-Pantai Expressway (SPE). They are accused of lifting their motorcycle front wheels for 80 meters on May 9 at 11:00 am, creating a significant risk to themselves and other road users while travelling from the city centre towards Putrajaya on a Ducati Hypermotard 950 and a Ducati Panigale, respectively. The charges fall under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, carrying potential prison sentences, fines, and licence disqualification. The court granted bail of RM3,000 for each, with case mentions scheduled for July. The riders were arrested on May 16 after a viral video of their stunts caused public concern.
