An official document obtained by the 'Baghdad Today' agency revealed a request submitted by the Director General of the General Company for Central Electricity Distribution, Alaa Samir Al-Jubouri, to the Ministry of Electricity to increase the cost of an electricity distribution project in the governorates of Diyala, Anbar, and Wasit by 86 billion dinars. According to the document, this increase raises the total value of the project from 138 billion, 200 million, and 757 thousand dinars to 224 billion, 200 million, and 757 thousand dinars. The Ministry of Electricity, in turn, contacted the Ministry of Planning for approval of this increase, with the aim of including the construction and rehabilitation of distribution networks in the three governorates within the Distribution Network Expansion and Development Project – Phase II.
