Former MACC chief looking into legal action against Tei 28.05.2026

Former MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki is considering legal action against businessman Albert Tei, who has accused Azam of threatening him in connection with an alleged Sabah corruption scandal. Azam has denied the allegations, calling them baseless and stating he has never directly communicated with Tei. Azam has also requested police to investigate Tei for making false public accusations and has contacted the police to provide his statement to aid the ongoing investigation. The police are investigating Tei's report under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, and Azam is expected to meet with investigators next week.
