The Global Partnership for Poverty Alleviation and Development (GPPAD) was officially launched on Wednesday in Beijing during the 2026 Global Poverty Reduction and Development Forum. This significant initiative, co-founded by China and 53 other nations along with nine international organizations, aims to advance global poverty-reduction strategies. GPPAD will facilitate the sharing of experiences in poverty reduction and governance, encouraging members to adopt tailored strategies while collectively seeking solutions for poverty eradication. The partnership invites diverse entities, including governments, international organizations, businesses, academia, and media, to contribute to creating a fair and sustainable development environment. Chinese Vice Premier Liu Guozhong stated China's commitment to supporting GPPAD through policy dialogue, technical aid, and training to enhance developing countries' poverty-reduction capabilities.
