Analysts and officials fear that Fedorova is effectively disseminating pro-Kremlin narratives, particularly concerning Ukraine and French economic ties with Russia, ahead of crucial elections. Despite condemnation from government officials like Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot and Renew Europe leader Valérie Hayer, who filed a complaint with media regulator Arcom, French authorities are limited by freedom of speech principles. Fedorova, who authored a book titled "Bannie" ("Banned"), portraying herself as a victim of censorship, had her residence permit in France extended by ten years in 2024. Her ties to conservative billionaire Vincent Bolloré's media empire and participation in events discussing future French politics have further fueled these concerns, with some experts labeling her an "agent of influence."
