DPM Fadillah: Kaamatan more than cultural celebration, is symbol of gratitude, unity and togetherness 30.05.2026

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof stated that the Kaamatan Festival, celebrated on May 30 and 31 by Sabah's Kadazan-Dusun, Murut, and Rungus communities, transcends mere cultural observance, embodying gratitude, unity, and togetherness within Malaysia's diverse society. He emphasized that the harvest festival symbolizes the prevailing harmony among Malaysians of all backgrounds. For the 2026 festival, the theme "Harvesting Unity, Celebrating Harmony" underscores the collaborative spirit of Sabahans in addressing global issues like economic instability and rising costs. Fadillah highlighted this unity as crucial for Malaysia's resilience, stability, and sustainability, wishing for continued blessings and strengthened goodwill among all citizens.
