This initiative is part of the platform's broader integrity measures, which include an election taskforce of experts in misinformation and cybersecurity, alongside advanced moderation tools and local language moderators. The Election Centre offers guidance on voting, key dates, and recognizing false content, with links directly accessible via in-app labels and search banners. TikTok also prohibits content that misleads voters or disrupts electoral processes and has banned paid political advertising. The platform collaborates with fact-checking organization Code for Africa and has trained journalists as part of a National Disinformation Taskforce.
