SIR enumeration phase begins in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur 13h ago

The enumeration phase for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has commenced in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Manipur, with eligible electors able to be included in the draft rolls if their forms are submitted by June 28. This initiative is part of the third round of SIR, which will ultimately encompass 16 States and three Union Territories with a total voter base of 36.73 crore. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are conducting house-to-house visits to distribute, collect, and verify enumeration forms, while political parties' Booth Level Agents (BLAs) can assist by collecting up to 50 forms daily. The ECI aims to ensure no eligible citizen is omitted and no ineligible person is included, with provisions for new voters to apply during the claims and objections period. This phase will cover most of the country, excluding Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, whose SIR schedules will be announced later.
