The commission clarified on Tuesday, via its X handle, that this phishing scam aims to deceive Nigerians and steal their personal data. NIMC assured the public that the National Identity Database is secure and protected from unauthorized access. It strongly advised citizens against clicking on any suspicious links or interacting with unofficial platforms. For any NIN corrections or updates, individuals are directed to use the official NIMC self-service portal or visit authorized enrollment centers.
