Widow seeks court order for rider's earnings data in RM1mil dependency claim 21h ago

The widow of a deceased delivery rider, Nor Nadia Abdul Majid, is pursuing legal action to obtain her late husband's earnings data from his part-time employer in Klang. The company has refused to disclose the information due to data protection concerns, prompting Nadia's lawyer, Mohd Faizi Che Abu, to seek a court order compelling disclosure. This data is crucial for establishing the deceased's total annual earnings, necessary for a RM1 million dependency claim. The rider, Amirul, died in a drink-driving crash on March 29, allegedly caused by technician R. Saktygaanapathy, who faces murder and drug charges. Nadia has obtained payslips from Amirul's primary employer but requires the second job's income for the dependency claim, which is expected to be filed by July.
