A 57-year-old woman sustained a severed left leg in a car crash on the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) near the Paka Rest and Service area in Dungun yesterday. The Proton X70 SUV she was traveling in skidded off the road. Firefighters received the distress call at 5:41 PM and promptly responded with seven personnel and a fire engine. The victim's severed leg, below the knee, was found within the vehicle and given to medical officers. Five occupants, one man and four women, were en route from Kuala Terengganu to Kuantan, Pahang, when the incident occurred. All five injured individuals, including the woman with the severe leg injury, were transported to Dungun Hospital for treatment.
