Green campaign urges citizens to make environmental action a daily habit 06.06.2026

Bùi Thị Minh Hoài launched a nationwide environmental campaign, "People Join Hands to Protect the Environment for a Green, Clean and Beautiful Việt Nam," in Cửa Lò, Nghệ An, coinciding with World Environment Day, World Oceans Day, and Việt Nam Sea and Islands Week. The campaign urges citizens, households, and communities to adopt daily green habits, with officials encouraged to lead by example by reducing single-use plastics and conserving resources. Households are called to sort waste and neighborhoods to organize clean-ups, while industries must comply with environmental laws and cut emissions. Deputy Prime Minister Hồ Quốc Dũng acknowledged progress but highlighted worsening air pollution and plastic waste, emphasizing Việt Nam's vulnerability to global environmental crises. He stressed that environmental protection must be integral to development strategies and called for coordinated efforts in reducing emissions, expanding renewable energy, and promoting a circular economy.
