Singaporean power washing artist Marcus Pang, 24, had his artwork on the pathway outside Mountbatten MRT Station removed the day after it was created following a public complaint. The complaint, made on May 31, led to Pang being questioned by station staff and subsequently the police about possessing a permit. Pang stated his art was made with rainwater on concrete, not harmful chemicals, but was told by a staff member, "This is Singapore, bro." Although found to have committed no crime, Pang was advised to get MP endorsements. Upon returning to complete his 60% finished project, he discovered it had been whitewashed. SMRT has since expressed interest in collaborating with Pang on "non-disappearing art."
