A 25-year-old Sembawang resident, Yan, reported the theft of her limited edition Adidas Stan Smith sneakers, valued at over S$300, from outside her home at Block 589A Montreal Drive. The incident occurred on June 4th when a neighbour’s domestic helper observed a man in a beige shirt and shorts attempting to steal shoes from Yan's shoe rack. The helper's intervention caused the man to flee, though Yan later discovered her specific Adidas sneakers were missing. She suspects the man targeted branded shoes, possibly a discontinued colourway. This is not her first experience with shoe theft, as she reported a similar incident two years prior, and police indicated other residents in her block had also filed missing shoe reports. In response, Yan is now keeping her footwear indoors and considering installing a security camera.
