The Sharjah Civil Defence Authority reported a decrease in fires and accidents in May 2026, attributing this success to a strategic blend of proactive safety measures, public awareness campaigns, and increased inspections. Brigadier Yousef Obaid Harmoul Al Shamsi, Director General, highlighted that these preventive and anticipatory initiatives, conducted with government and community partners, have effectively identified and mitigated risks.
