TESDA targets over 600,000 graduates for 2026 10.06.2026

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TESDA) aims to have over 600,000 graduates by the end of 2026, leveraging a significantly increased budget for scholarship slots. Director General Jose Francisco B. Benitez stated that the available budget for 2026 can accommodate between 630,000 and 650,000 scholarship slots, which are expected to translate into graduates. This expansion in access is facilitated by TESDA's approximately 20,000 training programs offered through various modalities, including digital platforms like the TESDA Skills Passport. Popular programs include construction, tourism and hospitality, ICT, AI, renewable energy, and healthcare, catering to both local and global demands. TESDA is also implementing micro-credentialing and enterprise-based education to further boost its graduates' employability, which currently averages between 83% and 86%, though a recent report indicated a lower job placement rate of 38% within six months for TVET graduates.
