A-GC orders murder probe into Kluang crash that killed five 03.06.2026

The Attorney-General's Chambers (A-GC) has directed the police to reclassify the investigation into a fatal road accident in Simpang Renggam, which killed five people including a family of four, as murder and reckless driving causing death. The accident occurred on Monday at approximately 1pm at KM27 of Jalan Renggam-Simpang, involving five vehicles. Investigations suggest two brothers, aged 19 and 22, were racing at high speed when their vehicles lost control, colliding with other cars. The A-GC expressed regret over the tragedy and disappointment with the continued lack of deterrence among errant drivers, emphasizing that stern actions, including murder charges, have been taken previously.
