Ab März weniger Rente: Wie Sie trotzdem über 700 Euro sparen können 24.02.2026

Many pensioners will see a reduction in their monthly pension payments starting in March due to increased supplementary health insurance contributions. Calculations by Verivox, shared exclusively with Ippen.Media, indicate that these higher contributions could result in up to 1,379 euros less per year for retirees. This increase stems from 35 out of 72 open health insurance funds raising their supplementary rates, with the highest single increase reaching 1.10 percentage points. Retirees, like employees, cover half of their health insurance costs, with the pension fund covering the other half. The rising contribution assessment ceiling also impacts higher-earning retirees. A standard pension recipient could face an annual increase of up to 121 euros, while those above the assessment limit might pay up to 771 euros more annually by switching to the cheapest available option.
