Dar Al Funoon Abu Dhabi, a new performing arts centre designed by the late Frank Gehry, is scheduled to open next to Saadiyat Cultural District in 2030. In an exclusive interview, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, revealed that the venue will serve as a "centre of excellence" for performances including music, dance, ballet, and recitals. Al Mubarak emphasized that the centre is not just a performance space but an educational institution designed to connect people globally and foster understanding. The project aligns with Abu Dhabi's cultural strategy, supporting entertainment, education, job creation, and the creative economy.
