Manuel Zacarías Monsalve Benavides, former Undersecretary of the Interior under Gabriel Boric's government, awaits his rape trial in his Viña del Mar apartment, where he has been under total house arrest since May 2025. The investigation entered its final stage in the middle of the month, after probes were extended by 60 days to gather new information from security cameras at the Ají Seco Místico restaurant and review WhatsApp conversations from the complainant.
