Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has authorized the pursuit of the death penalty for three alleged MS-13 members, Roberto Carlos Aguilar, Dennis Anaya Urias, and Grevil Zelaya Santiago, charged with murder in aid of racketeering. The victim, who was cooperating with federal authorities, was allegedly targeted by the gang and shot to death in South Los Angeles on February 18, 2025, after being subjected to a "green light" order. This decision marks one of Blanche's initial actions in his role. The charges carry a mandatory life sentence, with the death penalty being a potential outcome if convicted.
