AcuRite admits new app falls short, delays old app’s May shutdown to fix problems 11.06.2026

Smart weather device vendor AcuRite has postponed the shutdown of its older My AcuRite app, originally planned for May 30, to address user concerns and improve its new AcuRite NOW app. The company acknowledged that the new app, launched in June 2025 for iOS and Android, currently lacks features present in the older version, such as renaming temperature sensors and non-integer temperature reporting, as well as an online dashboard. Users have also reported issues with data uploads to weather sites and a less-than-ideal app layout. AcuRite's VP of product development, Jeff Bovee, confirmed the delay, stating that the company is working on enhancing account setup, device onboarding, connectivity, data visibility, usability, notifications, and overall reliability before retiring My AcuRite.
