Hackers are increasingly leveraging AI to launch large-scale attacks, particularly through email, by quickly aggregating personal information to craft convincing spear phishing messages. In response, former Google security executives Cy Khormaee and Ryan Luo founded AegisAI last year, drawing on their experience with safe browsing technology and reCAPTCHA. They recognized that existing rule-based prevention systems, which rely on "if-then" logic, are too slow and limited to catch AI-crafted malicious emails. AegisAI's solution uses AI agents that analyze each message as a human would, detecting small anomalies that even the most elaborate checklists would miss.
