Agrobank channels RM2.1m to support small businesses 14.06.2026

Agrobank has disbursed RM2.1 million in micro-financing to entrepreneurs and traders at farmers' markets nationwide as part of an initiative by development financial institutions (DFIs) to support small businesses. This contribution is part of a larger RM5 million channeled through field engagements with traders over the past three weeks, with Agrobank's involvement marking the third farmers' market location visited, following Taman Melawati and Kelana Jaya. The initiative, which also includes other DFIs like Mara and Tekun Nasional, aims to bring financing and advisory services closer to grassroots entrepreneurs, aligning with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's directive. Agrobank has allocated RM20 million under its Skim Usahawan Tani Agrobank x Fama, offering profit rates as low as 2.5% per annum, and hopes to engage 1,000 traders at Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) farmers' markets.
