Ciné-débat Mer. 18 Févr. Les agrocarburants en Amérique du Sud Rennes 18.02.2026

On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, a cine-debate will be held in Rennes at 100, avenue Sergent-Maginot, focusing on the impact of biofuels in South America. The event will feature screenings of two short films selected for the Alimenterre festival: "Frontera Invisible," which explores the intricate dynamics between the Colombian government, armed militias, farmers, and palm oil companies, and "La face cachées des agrocarburants." The latter documentary highlights the plight of the Guarani-Kaiowá indigenous people in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, who have lost 90% of their territory since 1915 due to the expansion of sugarcane cultivation for ethanol production, leading to widespread hunger. A discussion will follow the film screenings.
