Ahmad Zahid Proposes Part of FGV Land to be Returned to FELDA Management 07.07.2026

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has proposed that a portion of the land managed by FGV Holdings Berhad be returned to the management of the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA). This move aims to strengthen FELDA's financial position and accelerate the agency's debt settlement process through the restructuring of plantation management. He stated that this initiative is expected to provide better returns to settlers. In an event officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, it was stated that the Federal Government spends nearly RM1 billion annually to assist FELDA, with financial recovery expected to take nine years. Additionally, the government is also assisting the FELDA Capital Cooperative in restructuring assets to facilitate the redemption of shares for members, which requires approximately RM350 million, with the restructuring expected to be completed by the end of this year at the latest.
